Milwaukee Tool has recalled almost 100,000 chainsaws because the chain brake may not activate, which could pose a laceration hazard to the user.

Recalled are 90,860 Milwaukee Tool M18 FUELTM Top Handle Chainsaws with either a 12-inch or 14-inch bar, according to an announcement with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The chainsaws were sold at Home Depot in stores and online, and at other home improvement stores from March 2023 through September 2024 for about $350 (tool only) or $790 (with batteries and charger).

The recalled tools have the catalog number 2826-20. The chainsaw is sold either as a “bare tool” (including a chain, bar cover and blade wrench) or as a kit (containing two batteries, a charger, a chain, bar cover and blade wrench).
