A Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks K9 team found a missing hunter within minutes after a call from Yazoo County dispatch on Sunday, officials said.
K9 Officer Baylee Jones and Officer Christopher Dean responded to Sunflower Wildlife Management Area and were given the hunter’s last known location. K9 Dempsey was deployed for an area search and located the hunter in about 15 minutes, according to MDWFP.
The hunter was in stable condition and was safely escorted back to his vehicle.
MDWFP praised the quick response and teamwork of Officers Jones and Dean and K9 Dempsey.
