Thursday night’s clash between the Mission Viejo Diablos (8-1, 2-0) and Los Alamitos Griffins (8-1, 1-1) features two of California’s premier programs battling for Alpha League supremacy in their regular-season finale.
The red-hot Diablos enter on a four-game winning streak, including last week’s 37-20 victory over Edison in which senior quarterback Luke Fahey showcased his arm talent with 374 passing yards and two touchdown connections to junior receiver Jack Junker.
Los Alamitos, led by a talented trio of playmakers in Colin Creason, Braiden McKenna and Lenny Ibarra, looks to bounce back after suffering its first defeat of the season in a 28-9 loss to San Clemente last week.
Mission Viejo dominated last November’s head-to-head matchup, 40-14.
