After years of sitting empty, the former Kmart lot along North 7th Avenue in Bozeman is finally being eyed for a major overhaul. Developers plan to turn the 31-acre property into a mixed-use district with housing, retail and public gathering spaces.
The project, called Bozeman Square, would be developed over the next five to 10 years. Early plans include a mix of restaurants, venues, a convention center, hotels and apartments.
“It’s an idea whose time has come, a place where things come together,” Irwin Barkan, one of the partners developing Bozeman Square, said in a press release. “Bozeman Square will be another center of public spaces in the heart of the mid-town district.”
