Most Americans disapproved of President Donald Trump’s decision to tear down the East Wing of the White House to build a 90,000 square foot ballroom , a new poll found.

The new Washington Post-ABC News-Ipsos poll , released Thursday, showed 56% of Americans opposed the demolition for the project while 28% of Americans approved. Another 16% said they were unsure whether they supported or opposed the construction, according to the poll.

The poll also found that the results were divided along party lines. Eighty-eight percent of Democrats, 61% of independents and 22% of Republicans opposed the renovations. In contrast, 62% of Republicans, 17% of independents and 4% of Democrats approved of the project.

The poll was conducted among 2,725 U.S. adults Oct. 24 through Oct. 28.
