To say the past couple of days have been hectic for New England Patriots’ cornerback Marcus Jones may be an understatement. On Thursday, Jones was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Month, and just a few days before that, he earned a three-year, $36 million contract extension from the Pats.
After entering the season on the final year of his rookie contract, Jones is in the process of putting together the best campaign of his young career. Not only has Jones stood out on defense, but he’s also reemerged as one of the top punt returners in the league.
With a new deal in place, Jones will be sticking around in New England for years to come. After news of the deal came to light, Jones took a second to open up and discuss what his big extension means for him.
“It means a lot,” Jones
