KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Officials will be performing preventive maintenance on the public warning siren system in the Oak Ridge area throughout the week of Nov. 3, according to Y-12 National Security Complex officials.
Throughout the week, people in the area may occasionally hear audio from individual sirens in the vicinity of the Y-12.
The sirens are strategically placed to notify the public in the event of an on-site emergency that has impacts beyond Y-12's boundary.
