KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Lady Vol Ruby Whitehorn was charged with simple possession just hours after the team's latest win over Columbus State.

According to the University of Tennessee Police Department's 60-day crime log, Whitehorn was charged early Thursday morning.

Attorney Gregory P. Isaacs, who represented the basketball player when she faced different charges earlier this year, said Whitehorn was "cooperative and transparent when she was stopped" on Thursday morning. According to the attorney, she plans on pleading not guilty at her arraignment.

Issacs said he's confident in the outcome of her case.

A spokesperson for UT said the university was aware of the situation and was waiting for more information.
