RATHDRUM, Idaho — Lakeland High School placed fourth in a national contest, earning more than 393,000 votes and more than $20,000 to help fund school projects.
Along with more than 2,000 other high schools nationwide, Lakeland entered the T-Mobile Friday Night 5G Lights contest . By October, Lakeland was competing against just 25 other schools for a grand prize of $1 million to upgrade its stadium and weight room.
Community voting ended Oct. 24, and T-Mobile announced Dierks High School in Arkansas as the champion. Dierks received nearly 2 million votes.
While Lakeland did not take home the grand prize, the school still won $25,000 from the contest that will be used to help fund projects like stadium repairs, improved accessibility, concession stand upgrades and replacing the H-style
