Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball was fined $35,000 for making an “obscene gesture” on the court in Tuesday’s 144-117 loss to the Miami Heat.
The incident happened with 4:02 remaining in the fourth quarter. Ball was called for an offensive foul when he drove to the basket and made an obscene gesture at one of the officials.
He was assessed a technical foul in the game.
Ball is off to a hot start in the new season, leading the Hornets in points (26.2), rebounds (8.2), assists (9.5), and steals (1.8) per game.
The 24-year-old guard will not miss any time and is expected to play in tonight’s clash against the Orlando Magic.
