MADISON, Wis. — The woman accused of killing her mother in the Town of Blue Mounds and crashing her vehicle while driving naked earlier this year was committed to a medical facility on Thursday.
Sierra Schoonover, 31, entered a not guilty by reason of insanity plea/guilty insanity plea on Oct. 14 for her first-degree intentional homicide by use of a dangerous weapon.
Heather Schoonover was discovered deceased in the 10800 block of Smokey Mountain Trail. A neighbor reported seeing Sierra naked in her driveway arguing with her mother shortly before the incident. Sierra remained unclothed when the crash occurred.
