The Los Angeles Dodgers turned to one of their superstar pitchers, Blake Snell, in Game 5 of the World Series, and Snell struggled when the team needed him the most.
The Toronto Blue Jays clubbed two home runs off Snell in the first inning, and they didn't let up off the gas until the lefty was bounced from the game. He ended the day with 6 2/3 innings pitched, six hits, four walks, five earned runs, and two home runs allowed.
After the game, Snell refused to take much blame, instead opting to blame the outing on bad luck.
“I’m not one to make excuses. … It’s just pretty unlucky. Only so much you can do, and that’s baseball," Snell said after the Dodgers' crushing Game 5 loss in the World Series, as seen in a video posted to X by SportsNet LA.
