HERRIN, Ill. (KFVS) - The Herrin City Library is collecting food donations through the month of November for National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Month.

According to the library the items will go to the Herrin Community Pantry and the House of Hope.

They’re collecting shelf-stable food, household goods and personal care items.

Organizers say you can drop off your donations at the library’s circulation desk during regular library hours:

Monday-Thursday - 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Friday - 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Saturday - 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Items should be non-perishable, shelf-stable, unopened, unused and not expired.

They say they are not accepting clothing donations except unused new with tags socks, gloves and winter hats.
