GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Jennifer Ruland’s life turned upside down last year when she was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer.

“They went with the most aggressive and rigorous medication they could,” Jennifer said of her doctor’s plan to rid her of the cancer.

Like many cancer patients, Jennifer had questions about treatment.

“I’m like, ‘Give me everything. I’m doing it, all of it,’” she told TV20.

Jennifer had a double mastectomy, along with 20 weeks of chemotherapy and 25 treatments of radiation. Part of her healing included occupational and physical therapy from a team at UF Health.

“I was like, ‘Why am I meeting with them?’ Well, I found out shortly after that they were going to set me up with success throughout my treatment and after,” Ruland said.
