BELLEVIEW, Fla. (WCJB) - A man is set to spend the rest of his life behind bars after he was convicted of several burglary and battery charges.

Court records show 37-year-old Mitchel Searle was found guilty and sentenced to life last Friday.

In December 2024, investigators say Searle broke into the Shepherd’s Lighthouse homeless facility in Belleview.

He later ran up to a woman in her vehicle and elbowed her while trying to escape authorities.

Searle was previously found guilty on several other charges before this case, including trespassing and grand theft.
