LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - The Monterey Plainsmen (4-4, 2-2) have a chance to solidify their chances for the postseason Friday night and at the same time, deny Abilene High (7-2, 5-0) a district championship.
Friday will be the Eagles’ senior night at Shotwell Stadium, and a win for them would cement a district title. Ironically, their most-recent loss in district play
“You’ve got to you’ve got to look at their perspective and say they needed to beat Amarillo, they need to beat Tascosa, they need to be us, and then they got to take care of Caprock,” said Monterey football coach Jason Sims. “Those are the threats, and so we’re the next on their calendar, and so they’re going to focus on us for sure.”
