After some scattered showers Thursday evening, the weather will briefly quiet down overnight before things turn much more active again on Friday. A strengthening storm system will sweep through, bringing blustery west winds and a noticeable drop in temperatures—just in time for Halloween.

By Friday afternoon and evening, winds will be howling, blowing steadily between 15 and 25 mph with gusts that could reach 40 to 50 mph. A Wind Advisory will be in effect for all of Central New York from 11 AM Friday through 5 AM Saturday, warning of possible power outages, fallen branches, and loose objects being tossed around.
