MARSHALL, Mo - Alcohol and tobacco compliance checks conducted by the Marshall Police Department yesterday resulted in the arrest of three people for selling such products to children and teens.
The department's compliance checks used underage operatives under the department's supervision to attempt to purchase alcohol and tobacco products from retailers. This effort is done to reduce underaged drinking and tobacco use and make sure that retailers are performing their legal responsibility to verify the age of all customers purchasing alcohol.
Those arrested were charged with either selling tobacco to minors or supplying alcohol to a minor.
