DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — Steel Wolf, a Lithuanian-American hard rock group based out of Long Island, will return to the New York City Marathon for their annual performance at the intersection of Pacific Street and Fourth Avenue, just after the 8-mile mark of the marathon.
Steel Wolf has played in Brooklyn along the marathon route for over 10 years . The band performs songs about their Lithuanian-American heritage, sometimes with a humorous lyrical angle. They often invite local musicians to accompany them for the several-hour performances.
Musicians play along the route to motivate the runners and also entertain crowds of spectators.
Mile 2 through 13 of the 26.2-mile-long race pass through Brooklyn. The crowds in Brooklyn are known to bring high-energy cheering, according to the TCS N
