MARSHALL COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT) - A former high school athletic director in Mississippi has been arrested for embezzlement.

On Thursday, the State Auditor’s Office announced that former H.W. Byers Athletic Director Nick Coln embezzled funds from the school.

Coln allegedly received funds through CashApp from student athletes to purchase athletic equipment and then converted those funds to his own personal use.

He faces up to $5,000 in fines and 5 years in prison.
