The horse racing world has united after the tragic death of young jockey Tommie Jakes.
The teenager sadly passed away at his home at the age of 19 just hours after his final ride.
He was one of George Boughey's riders and had picked up around £200,000 in prize money for owners this season alone.
In a statement from the Injured Jockeys Fund/Professional Jockeys Association, they said: “It is with deep sadness that we report the death of licenced apprentice jockey Tommie Jakes, 19, who tragically died at home this morning near Newmarket.
“Tommie was a much-loved son and brother, and a popular member of George Boughey’s racing team.
“His parents Jeremy and Tonie ask that their privacy is respected at this terrible time.”
