AVON, Ohio (WOIO) - A line of cars wrapped around Lake Erie Crushers Stadium Thursday afternoon as volunteers braved the rain to distribute food to Lorain County residents.

Second Harvest organized the special food pantry to provide income-eligible residents with fresh produce and shelf-stable food boxes.

“We are going to try to serve as many families as we can out here today and help to hopefully make people feel a little bit better that there is some food available to them,” said Julie Chase-Morefield, president and CEO of Second Harvest.
