WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ore. (KPTV) - The Washington County Courthouse was evacuated Thursday morning after someone called in a bomb threat.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says a courthouse staffer took a call from someone with a man’s voice around 9 a.m. The caller stated that there were several explosive devices placed throughout the courthouse and that he planned to detonate them.
The courthouse was immediately evacuated, and multiple bomb disposal units responded to the scene.
Deputies, working with the Portland Metro Explosives Disposal Unit, the FBI, the ATF, and the Port of Portland, searched the courthouse and connected buildings room by room. As of 2:15 p.m., officials said they did not find any explosive devices, and they believe the call was a hoax.
