CHICAGO, Ill. (WTVO) — Governor J.B. Pritzker has criticized the Trump administration's immigration enforcement in Chicago, urging the Department of Homeland Security to pause operations over the Halloween weekend.
Pritzker's request follows guidance that DHS should avoid operations in sensitive locations, such as schools, churches, and hospitals, a policy rescinded by the Trump administration.
"Our Chicagoland neighborhoods are being bombarded with tear gas, invaded by unidentified masked men in unmarked vehicles. Thugs who are intimidating workers and children and grandparents, most of whom are black or brown. Most of whom have committed no offense at all," Pritzker said.
