FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - More than half a million Kentuckians receive SNAP benefits, but the Trump administration says they and millions of other Americans won’t receive those benefits come November 1, blaming the government shutdown.
If Congress can’t come to an agreement to reopen the federal government, hundreds of thousands of Kentuckians will feel the cut of SNAP benefits. The Trump administration says benefits will not be issued on November 1.
“From the miracle of the fishes in the loaves to the last supper, we’re called on to feed and care for each other, and what the Trump administration is doing with SNAP benefits is wrong,” said Gov. Andy Beshear.
