CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio — In Chagrin Falls , a small blue cooler outside The Hungry Bee has become a lifeline.

Inside are grab-and-go meals, stocked daily by owner and chef Kimberly McCune Gibson — no questions asked.

“It’s non-judgment,” Gibson said. “We stock that cooler daily, multiple times a day, for those less fortunate.”

Gibson has been offering free meals for a while, but says demand in recent weeks has surged to levels she’s never seen. She estimates people stop by to pick up a meal six to eight times a day.

“It’s your child’s coach, your neighbor, the bus driver — people you wouldn’t expect,” she said. “Everyone needs help.”

The effort has made such an impact that someone recently left a handwritten note, calling the program a “blessing.”
