SACRAMENTO, Calif. —

Traffic is nearly completely blocked on U.S. Route 50 in Elmhurst, following a big rig fire on Thursday afternoon.

Multiple emergency crews with the Sacramento Fire Department are responding to the scene, on the eastbound side of the freeway near the 59th Street overpass.

Caltrans traffic cameras show eastbound traffic backed up past the interchange with Highway 99.

According to the fire department, no one was injured and the semi truck is the only vehicle involved.
