WASHINGTON — The FDA has once again expanded its advisory about high levels of lead in ground cinnamon .
The FDA has added new products to the advisory and is warning customers not to consume even more brands of the spice. The food safety agency's warning began in July 2024 and has expanded several times since.
The latest health alert and voluntary recall adds DEVI-brand and BaiLiFeng-brand ground cinnamon to the list of impacted products.
The DEVI-brand recall affects 140/100-gram packets of the product, labeled “Dalchini Powder” and marked with batch #2502315. The cinnamon was sold at Apna Bazar in Washington state between May 15 and Oct. 21.
A separate product, BaiLiFeng brand cinnamon powder, distributed by Good Way Trading Group Inc., is also newly included in the recall.
