Grand Erie Public Health has asked Brantford city councillor Dan McCreary to resign from the health board and banned him from attending meetings.
The decision, passed by the health board at its Oct. 15 meeting, is an affirmation of a July 16 motion to bar McCreary from meetings. It follows a review of an investigation concerning the Grand Erie Public Health Code of Conduct.
If McCreary doesn’t resign within 30 days, the health board will ask the City of Brantford to recall him and appoint a new representative.
The request comes just weeks before McCreary’s term on the board is due to expire in mid-November. He says his plans for 2026 do not include a return to the board of health.
A copy of the health board’s request was sent to The Expositor on Wednesday afternoon while city official
