Mookie Betts has been struggling at the worst possible time for the Los Angeles Dodgers .
The star shortstop went 0-for-4 in Los Angeles’ 6-1 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 5 of the World Series to push the Dodgers to the brink of elimination.
Betts is hitting just .130 with zero extra-base hits with as RBI in the World Series, while hitting .234 throughout the postseason.
The series now shifts back to Toronto with the Blue Jays in the driver’s seat.
“I’ve been terrible and I wish it was from lack of effort, I really do,” Betts told reporters after Wednesday’s game . “But it’s not, so I don’t have any answers.”
Betts’ former Boston Red Sox teammate David Ortiz offered him some advice amid the struggles.
“If I’m Mookie, I would put that all behind,” he said on FOX .
