HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WPTA) - Each day of the year, New Life Ministries’ meal service provides lunch and dinner to people in need, and Church Pastor Jimi Staton said more people coming through the doors recently means the days are busier than they’ve been in a while.
“It takes a lot to feed people,” he said. “It takes a lot to keep it open every day.”
Staton said the pantry is low on food, and with SNAP benefits being cut next month, he is worried that there may not be enough for everyone who needs help.
“Adding on those who receive those SNAP benefits that are not being able to get those, I think that’s going to tweak a lot of places, and I think that it’s gonna be a lot of pressure on us as well,” he said.
