SHREVEPORT, La. -- A Caddo Parish sheriff's correctional deputy has been arrested on multiple charges after allegedly watching two inmates fight and failing to intervene, Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr. said Thursday in a news release.
Whitehorn said the incident happened as Danny C. Taylor, 40, was working in a housing unit at the Caddo Correctional Center. During his shift, he allegedly instructed an inmate to enter a cell where another inmate was present and battered him. Surveillance footage confirmed that Taylor witnessed the entire incident but failed to intervene, Whitehorn said.
As a result of his actions, Taylor was fired and charged with second-degree battery (as a principal) and malfeasance in office. He has since been booked into the Caddo Correctional Center.
