COLUMBUS, Ohio — A judge ruled Thursday that a 16-year-old accused in the death of 14-year-old Lorenzio Galloway Jr. is competent to stand trial.
Galloway was killed in April after Columbus police said he crashed a stolen car at Cleveland and East 12th avenues in South Linden. Police said he died from a gunshot wound.
Three teens — a 16-year-old and two 15-year-olds — have been charged in Galloway’s death. Officials said all three had prior criminal records.
Court records show the 16-year-old, who 10TV is not identifying because of his age, had previously been charged four times with receiving stolen property and twice with having a firearm. He had been found incompetent to stand trial a year and a half ago.
