PEORIA, Ill. (WCIA) -- The Massey Family says they will never be satisfied with Wednesday's conviction after the former deputy who shot and killed their daughter was found guilty of second-degree murder.

Sean Grayson faces up to 20 years in prison after the conviction, but it's a much lesser charge than first-degree murder, which he was initially charged with 15 months ago.

From the second both the Massey and Grayson families heard the words "guilty of second degree murder," you could hear soft crying from the courtroom's gallery.

Those soft tears turned into a loud fight for justice outside in Downtown Peoria on Wednesday afternoon.

"I'm devastated," Sontae Massey, Sonya's cousin, said. "I had to watch Sonya's daughter, Summer; she became inconsolable."
