PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- With Friday night being Halloween, one Peoria high school wanted to put a twist on a decade-plus tradition.
The Woodruff High School Culinary Arts Program is one of the best culinary programs around, earning statewide and national accolades over the years.
Thursday, Oct. 30, was the kick-off for the Warrior Way Cafe community lunch event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Coordinator for the Culinary Arts Program at Woodruff High School, Chef Jitske Miedema, said this is a great opportunity for the community.
"It's always so exciting to see the customers come in here and be so supportive of our students and, you know, being forgiving of minor mistakes that they may make," Miedema said.
