The rain that’s been soaking New Jersey on Thursday will be gone by early Friday morning, but powerful gusty winds are expected to ramp up by the time trick-or-treaters hit the streets to celebrate Halloween.

Forecasters say there will be a lull in the windy conditions Thursday night, but after the storm system moves away, the atmosphere will stir up a new batch of winds. And widespread gusts of 40 to 50 mph are expected on Friday — in coastal areas and also in interior sections of the state.

That’s why the National Weather Service has issued wind advisories for all 21 counties across New Jersey.

In most areas, the advisories will be in effect from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Halloween.
