DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) -- A middle school student in the Florida panhandle was arrested this week after investigators claimed he made threats that he placed a bomb at his school.
According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, on Wednesday, October 29, employees in the Washington County School District received an email claiming that a bomb had been placed on the property of Vernon High School.
Authorities were immediatly notified of the threat, and the WCSO did a sweep of Vernon Middle School, and no explosives were found.
During the investigation, employees with the school district received a second bomb threat, and investigators were able to identify the suspect as a student at the middle school.
