Wollongong Wolves attacker Thomas James has been suspended for four games for the crotch-grabbing incident involving a Marconi Stallions player.
Football Australia's independent Disciplinary and Ethics Committee found James guilty of 'violent conduct' for the former NPL Player of the Year's role in the incident that occurred in the 37 th minute of the Round 3 Australian Championship fixture between the Wolves and Marconi.
The former Canberra FC striker James was issued a yellow card on the field after he reached and grabbed for an opponent's groin region after being knocked to the ground.
The decision not to send James off drew the ire of match commentators, who commented, "You absolutely cannot do that. I'm absolutely baffled."
