BUFFALO, N.Y. — The SPCA Serving Erie County on Thursday said 26 dogs and puppies have been rescued from a Buffalo home where they were found living in unsafe and unsanitary conditions.

The agency's Investigations team removed the animals Thursday afternoon after discovering that they were scared, urine-soaked, dirty, and suffering from neglect. The SPCA said the home has since been condemned.

"These dogs, who have endured so much, are finally safe and experiencing the comforts they deserve,” the SPCA said in a statement posted to social media . “They are breathing fresh air, snuggling into clean, warm beds, and beginning their journey toward healing.”

All 26 animals are now receiving veterinary care, nutritious food, and individualized attention at the SPCA's shelter in Tonawanda. Ea
