Volunteers in Christian County pack 1,600 Thanksgiving meals as food assistance demand grows

OZARK, Mo. (KY3) - An army of volunteers in Christian County worked to ensure families have food on the table this Thanksgiving.

Least of These volunteers packed 1,600 meals to be distributed to people who have already signed up to receive groceries in November. The charity has served around 1,600 families during the holidays over the past few years.

People enrolled in the monthly groceries program will also receive a Christmas meal later this month. With supplemental food benefits running out due to the government shutdown, Least of These expects hundreds more families to seek help with groceries in the coming months.
