For Brittany Hines, 2025 has been a year of milestones: a clean bill of health, a wedding and the winning design in Coweta County’s bicentennial logo contest.

A nurse practitioner by profession and self-taught designer by passion, Hines moved to Newnan from Sarasota, Fla., in December 2023.

When she heard about the county’s plans to mark its 200th anniversary, she decided to submit a design that reflected both the community’s heritage and its future.

“I’ve always been creative and a little competitive,” Hines said with a laugh. “I thought it would be neat to give a fresh perspective of what Coweta was, what it is now and where it’s going.”

When Hines began sketching ideas, she researched the county’s history and the symbols that defined its character.
