South-east Queensland and northern New South Wales will be in the firing line of severe thunderstorms throughout this afternoon and tomorrow, with the potential to develop isolated tornadoes over the next 24 hours.
The Bureau of Meteorology warns severe storms could develop again this afternoon, bringing damaging wind and large hail, after isolated storms hit the border region yesterday afternoon.
The Bureau of Meteorology will release warnings as systems develop this afternoon.
Weatherzone's Ben Domensino has warned the storms will become more intense on Saturday.
"Storms could develop early in the morning over eastern parts of NSW and Queensland on Saturday, before becoming more widespread and intense during the afternoon into the evening," Domensino said.
