Without being too dramatic, I felt like I had lost an old friend when the Bureau of Meteorology updated its website just over a week ago.

Where was the old rain radar page? The one I only had to click on once, and could clearly see whether I needed to bring the washing in or take the indoor plants out?

Where was the unvarnished forecast page? The one with a nice plain background that showed me the information I was after - the high and the low temperatures for the next week? Without any phaffing around or assaulting of my retinas?

What. Fresh. Hell. Was. This.
