BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — Nobody was injured when a train collided with a vehicle that became stuck on the tracks Thursday night near the intersection of Main Street and Orchard Avenue in Bridgeport.
Bridgeport police, firefighters and EMS squad responded to the scene just after 9 p.m.
The vehicle, a Honda Pilot, apparently was driven onto the tracks by mistake and got stuck there.
“The driver just missed the turn, and he’s out of state, not being familiar with the area. Thankfully, all occupants got out without injuries,” Bridgeport Police Sgt. Todd Collins said. “The train struck the vehicle, and we're in the process of trying to remove it from the tracks.
