CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WV News) — A 45-year-old Clarksburg man indicted in September on three sex charges agreed to a postponement of his trial Thursday.
Harrison Circuit Judge D. Andrew McMunn took both an oral and written waiver of speedy trial rights from Edward Lamar Tyler before granting Harrison Defender Jordan Dishong's motion for a continuance. The judge then set trial for the week of Feb. 23, with a pretrial conference Feb. 17.
Dishong told the court that Tyler recently ordered her to hire two experts: Someone who specializes in the male anatomy, and someone else who focuses on DNA analysis. Finding those experts will take time, and make it impossible to have a trial during the term of court that runs through December, Dishong indicated.
