CELINA, Texas — A Celina ISD middle school teacher was arrested and charged Thursday after showing up to work intoxicated, police confirmed.

According to the Celina Police Department, police were called to Jerry & Linda Moore Middle School after receiving a call saying a teacher appeared to be impaired. Officers questioned the teacher, Jainya Walder, 40, of Celina, and took her into custody. Walder was booked into Collin County Jail, facing a charge of endangering a child.

According to a letter obtained by WFAA from Interim Principal Kendric Smith to Moore Middle School parents, Walder was a 6th grade ELAR teacher.
