On Thursday at 10 p.m. the National Weather Service released a high surf advisory valid for Saturday between 5 a.m. and 5 p.m. for South Central Oregon Coast and Curry County Coast.
The weather service adds to be ready for, "Large breaking waves of 20 to 25 feet with a brief period of a sneaker wave threat late Friday night."
"Large breaking waves will create hazardous conditions along and within the surf zone, and could inundate beaches and low-lying shorelines. Waves could wash over rocks and jetties, beach erosion is possible, and exposed infrastructure may be damaged," comments the weather service. "Stay away from the surf zone and off of jetties. Area beaches may become hazardous due to dangerous surf conditions."
