At this point, Vancouver Canucks players and fans should just expect nothing to get better. How else to explain what appears to be a ninth injury to a Canucks player?

Brock Boeser took a shot in the, uh, to put it kindly, midsection in the first minute of Thursday’s game in St. Louis vs. the Blues.

He never saw the shot by Elias “Junior” Pettersson coming and fell immediately to the ice after being struck in what looked like either the jewels or just above that most sensitive area. Hockey players do wear a cup to protect that part of their bodies, but there’s not a whole lot of padding around it, so any shot in the leg or lower abdomen generally hits mostly flesh.
