For the rest of this year, Glendale will not change its policy limiting residents to two reports of code violations in their neighborhood per week.

Consensus, however, is building to once again allow up to five code violation complaints a week per resident in the city’s GlendaleOne app/portal.

City Manager Kevin Phelps said new leadership i code compliance is putting the department on a good path. With new city manager Patrick Banger beginning the role on Jan. 12, 2026, Phelps suggested waiting until he is in the job to formally discuss a policy change.

Mayor Jerry Weiers was on an excused absence Oct. 28, and the other six council members reached a consensus to bring the discussion back in the first workshop of March.
