The man alleged to have murdered Melbourne woman Isla Bell, and his co-accused who is alleged to have helped him cover-up her death, will face trial after a magistrate dismissed an application to have their charges thrown out.

Ms Bell, 19, disappeared in October last year when she was last seen leaving her Brunswick home and, just over six weeks later, her body was found in a rubbish truck at a Dandenong tip.

Marat Ganiev, 54, has been charged with her murder, and Eyal Yaffe, 58, is accused of assisting to cover up her death and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Police allege Ms Bell was murdered in Mr Ganiev’s St Kilda apartment after midnight on October 7 and later removed by the two men in a plastic-wrapped refrigerator on October 17.
